Cancelling or changing an Ocean Palms Goa booking: what to do

Plans change. This guide sets out what happens at Ocean Palms Goa when you cancel early, cancel late, miss your arrival, move your dates or book over Christmas and New Year, and who to contact in each case. It reflects our terms as of October 2026. The official wording is on our cancellation policy page, and if the two ever differ, that page is the one that counts.

One fact shapes everything below. Full payment is required when you book, and a reservation is confirmed only once that payment has been received. So cancelling is really a question of whether money comes back to you, and how.

Before you pay: what to check

Get any of these details wrong and you will need a change later, which festive bookings do not allow at all. Check them before you pay.

• Your dates, against the festive window of 21 December to 3 January, when bookings are non-refundable and can't be changed.
• The room: every category in our rooms except the Sky Villa takes up to three adults, or two adults and a child; the Sky Villa takes two adults and a child under six.
• Your times: check-in is from 2 PM and check-out by 11 AM, so set them against your flights or trains.
• Check-in rules: photo ID is compulsory, and the guest checking in must be at least 18.
• Who you are booking with: direct with us, or through a travel site or agent whose own terms also apply.

Cancelling more than 48 hours before check-in

Cancellation is free up to 48 hours before your scheduled check-in date. Cancel three days before arrival, for example, and there is no charge. Tell our Reservations team on +91 88 8888 4709 (phone or WhatsApp) or +91 832 663 1400, or by email at reservations@oceanpalmsgoa.com. The team works from 9 AM to 6 PM IST, so have your booking details and the lead guest's name ready.

Send an email even if you have already called. It gives you a written record of the cancellation and of when you made it. Our terms do not set out the exact hour the 48-hour cut-off falls, so if you are anywhere near it, cancel that day and ask Reservations to confirm the charge in writing.

Cancelling inside 48 hours, or not arriving

Cancellations made within 48 hours of check-in are charged 100% of the total booking value, and so are no-shows. Cancel the day before you arrive, for example, and the full booking value is charged. Because the full amount was paid at booking, nothing comes back in either case. If you are not sure you can travel, decide before the 48-hour mark, not after it.

If you are still coming but running late, say so. When a delayed flight or a slow drive means you will reach Calangute late at night, ring the resort to tell us you are on your way. The Front Desk is open 24 hours.

Moving your dates or changing room

To move your dates or switch to a different room category, contact Reservations. Changes are subject to availability and to any difference in rate, and they are not guaranteed until the hotel confirms them. Wait for that confirmation, ideally by email, before you rebook flights or trains.

The same applies if you want to move up a category, say from a Premium Room to a Pool View Room with Jacuzzi for an anniversary. Bookings for 21 December to 3 January can't be amended at all. If you are thinking of moving an existing stay into those dates, ask Reservations how the festive terms would then apply before you agree to the change.

Bookings for 21 December to 3 January

As of October 2026, every reservation for 21 December to 3 January is non-refundable and non-amendable, because this is one of Goa's most sought-after holiday periods. Full payment is retained whenever you cancel, so a festive booking cancelled in October costs the same as a no-show. Book these dates only once your plans are firm: leave approved, flights or trains booked, and everyone in your group committed. If you need room to change your mind, keep the whole stay outside the window by checking out by 20 December or arriving from 4 January. If your dates run across 21 December or 3 January, ask Reservations how the terms apply before you pay.

Booked through a travel site or an agent

If you booked through an online travel platform or a travel agent, the terms on that booking matter too, so read them before you do anything. Start any cancellation or change with whoever took your payment, since that is usually where any refund would come from. If you also need to reach us about the stay itself, quote that booking's reference.

Waiting for a refund

Where a refund applies, it is processed to the original mode of payment, so a card payment goes back to that card and a UPI or net-banking payment to the account it came from. How long it takes depends on your payment provider and bank. Keep the cancellation email, and check your statement against it.

Be careful who you deal with while you wait. Use only the numbers on our contact page, never one from a search listing, a social media comment or an unexpected message. Because refunds go back to the original mode of payment, you should never be asked for a PIN or OTP to receive one, so never share either with anyone. If money has gone, call the national cyber-crime helpline, 1930, or report it at cybercrime.gov.in at once: Goa Police say money can be frozen when a complaint is made quickly.
